Hot Air Balloon
An Unexpected Thrill on a Saturday Morning
The morning of Saturday, September 27th started like any other, but it would soon become anything but ordinary.
This was the morning of the annual Clovis Balloon Festival. Much to our surprise and delight, one of the balloon teams decided to land on our street to refill their propane tanks.
The balloonist and his team (I neglected to get their names, but if they visit this website to view these photos I hope they send email) were the nicest people my family and I have had the pleasure to meet. They offered to take my children up for a short ride, and then spent the rest of their morning giving free rides to the rest of the children in our neighborhood. What fun!
I only hope they realize the impact that their acts of kindness and generosity have had on our children. They will remember that morning for the rest of their lives. How many of us get to touch others that way? It's a remarkable gift that they gave us. I will always appreciate it.
